I was talking to my friend MA the other night (yaknow, mutual-moral-support and solving the problems of the world an’ like that…), and we came around to pottery-glaze colors…
“I want more ‘joyous’ colors in my life!” I sez. And then I started wondering what those looked like, really, beyond “I’ll know ’em when I see ’em”! (When you’re talking to an artist who’s 500 miles away, that *is* a pretty inadequate answer!).
Google-my-friend came up with this, after I saw these African Bee Eaters on a nature program last night: http://sexyactionplanet.tumblr.com/image/21876148418. Purty-purr!!
… and here’s the current thing I’d like to find, in those joyous colors:
found through HobbyHutCeramics.com: “Venti Latte Cup”:
“Latte Mug” ~ straight-sided, roughly 6″ high by 3 1/4″ wide, holds 14 oz. (a can of pop and a couple of ice cubes 🙂 , shaped like an upside-down A-line skirt… (grin))
(Distraction note: just went prowling around the HobbyHutCeramics site, and found these mah-velous color-toys: http://www.hobbyhutceramics.com/mayco_paint.htm – Ooh-Ooh-Ooh, shiny-pretties!
Note from the future: I may have found that joyous mug: http://tinyurl.com/knthfsg
